None, in my country it is considered abusive to hit with anything but a bare outstretched hand, and if a mark is left it is also considered abuse.
My parents slapped me on the hand or on the but through clothes if I did something really bad and as a last resort. I can count the times I remember being spanked on one hand.
First they used guilt, withdrawing attention and mutual respect or being sent for a time out.
I was very well behaved because I didnt want to dissapoint my parents, not because I was afraid of them.

mine was a horse paddle the kind you slap the back of a horses butt with to get them to go.it hurt it used to snap back after you would get hit.

when my parents discipline me, they use the belt buckle and slap it hard on my thighs..sometimes a broom…sometimes they make me kneel in rock salts for like an hour…sometimes they spank me with slippers…but they will never use a paddle on us..here in the philippines we call it "dos por dos"…

In my country paddles are not used.
The most similar to a paddle I was spanked with, was dad’s flipflop. That wide smooth rubber sole really stung like crazy.
