I remember the dam … I remember the dam at the old water treatment (?) building in Baraboo. There was a bypass of water under Water Street and back about a block downriver In dry summers (especially before the flood of ’93), the area would totally dry out between the dam and where the water came back out the treatment building on the side of the river, making it possible to walk across on the dry rocks or along the bottom of the dam.
After the removal of eleven dams, the Baraboo is free once again
