Is it legal in oregon or any state to paddle students?

I was reading something on internet, When i came across an article that stated that it is legal to paddle student in school as punishment. Isn’t that outrageous? I really hope I just read wrong.

You are wrong and right at the same time. In places like Oregon no your not allowed to hit in school. But in places like Missouri where it is really famous yes they do allow it. Then there’s Texas and some other states that still do paddle.

    Hello,
It might still be on the books, but outdated.
In Oregon it is assault if you spank your own kid!!

Kids can do anything they want these days…..

Sources say that it is illegal in Oregon (first listed source below)

Other states? One could say that technically one could "legally" paddle a student if the school is private. Would the school or the parents of the students in the school see this as appropriate or do-able? No. FamilyEducation.com claims to have a list where it is illegal and legal. I’ve never met anyone who’s been paddled in school, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. I would say that its not incredibly common place though.

I do not verify the legitimacy of any of these websites, this is a subject where it will be hard to find valid sources online.
