Dragon boat paddling and first trimester?

Anyone know about the risks? I paddle on a dragon boat team and we have 2 races coming up in the next 2 months. I am 4 weeks pregnant and wondering if there is a risk involved in continuing this sport in my first trimester. I have a 3.5 year old daughter now and recently had my first miscarriage in February.
Any help from people who KNOW what dragon boating is and know about early risks would be great. thanks for your time.

If you take your feet right off the peddles and allow the paddles to freewheel, no, not much drag at all – whatever is involved in the shaft.

If you keep your feet on them and restrain the paddles from freewheeling, yes, much more. Rather like dipping your oars in, in a rowing boat and ‘checking’ the boat’s progress.

This would be most pronounced on a traditional peddle boat, with rotary paddle wheels. However, there are some, more innovative craft which use flipper-style paddles, and in the case of this type the effect would be negligible – more akin to a scuba diver resting their flippers.

can a Polyethylene paddle boat be patched with a fiberglass patch?

i just bought a used paddle boat and i noticed it had a patch on it, the guy i got it from never used and didnt patch it, so he didnt know, but i looked the boat up online and found out that its made out of Polyethylene not fiberglass, but the patch on it has like a mesh matherial coted in some kind of thickish orang or red looking stuff, is this fiberglass patch or a patch for Polyethylene? will it leak or sink?

a polyethylene boat can be patched using fiberglass cloth and epoxy. the surface is cleaned and then heated with a flame to scorch the surface, then the surface can be bonded with fbg. cloth and epoxie.

the surface can also be repaired by using heat to weld additional layers of polyethylene to the hull.

Looking to rent a paddle boat in Chicago or surrounding areas.

they used to have paddle boats in Lincoln Park but that is gone, as far as I know, Chicago itself doesn’t have paddle boats to rent. There are rentable paddle boats in Des Plaines at Lake Park, I’ve gone there before.

Three men are in a small boat with no paddles and a broken motor 2 km away from the sea’s shore line, one of them is afraid of the water, the other afraid of sharks, and the last completely unable to swim. How would ALL of these men be able to work together in bringing the boat back to the shore line?

Paddle boat on the Seine River?

Is it possible to take a paddle boat down the Seine River in Paris? Or do you have to take a bigger cruise boat? I’ve never been to Paris, but I have been learning a little about it.

You do not have to take a big cruise boat. There are smaller boats that give you a guided visit called Vedettes du Pont-Neuf that take about thirty people on board and are very reasonably priced.

To the best of my knowledge unless there is a special event, canoes and tiny boats, etc… are not rented out or do not operate in between the sluices which are kept closed from the Eiffel Tower to the back of Notre-Dame for safety reasons as there are so many larger boats operating between those points. Elsewhere on the Seine all sort of nautical sports are permitted.
